Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Related to Traveling
In this page I will share some of the frequently asked questions (FAQ) that people are always asking me about my travels, about traveling in general and how they can do it too. so lets start!
How do I find the best deals on flights and accommodations for my trip?
Answer: My general approach in finding the best deals on flights and accommodation is to let the deals “find you”, What I mean by that is, you should stay flexible with the time and the destination and let the deal or the price guide you. which means if at the moment flights to Italy are cheap, check the option to go to Italy instead of Spain for example.
Same about the date, if the flights to Italy are cheaper in June, think about going in June instead of August.
Once you let the market conditions guide and lead you, you just save a lot of money while managing to find some pretty amazing deals as well.
What are some essential items I should pack for traveling?
Answer: this is a very subjective question since people has different needs and traveling styles, some will go more fancy with the clothes and shoes and some will go more basic.
Check my packing list for the list of things I cannot travel without.
How can I stay safe while traveling abroad?
Answer: most of the guidelines are the same for Men and Women (Women just need to be extra cautious for obvious reasons). avoid the common scams by reading about them online (a few minutes) before going to a new destination.
Be cautious and skeptical with strangers offering you stuff on the streets, do not travel alone at night in dangerous areas, leave your passport and most of your money, backup phone and backup credit cards in the hotel/ room.
The Best Destinations for First Time Travelers?
Answer: In general as a first time traveler I would go to the most “tourist friendly” countries first since they are mostly safe, people speak a good level of English and they would be happy to help (mostly).
Countries I Recommend for First Time Travelers:
In South East Asia: Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan.
Countries in Europe: Spain, Portugal, Germany, Hungary, Italy, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic, Greece, Bulgaria and more.
Countries in America: USA, Canada, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala.
Countries in the Middle East: UAE.
Countries I Will Not Go as a First Time Traveler:
India, Egypt, China, Kenya, Tanzania and other countries in Africa in general.
What are some budget-friendly travel tips for exploring expensive destinations?
Answer: this is a very popular questions that I already answered about a few times in my posts about many of the expensive countries like the UAE and Switzerland, but I will summarize it with a few key tips: in expensive places it would be usually cheaper to take an Airbnb or an affordable hotel outside of the city centers, buy groceries in good supermarkets and cook at home more in order to save on restaurants (still can go out when you feel so).
In some countries like Switzerland renting a car will save you a lot of money as well on transportation since trains are very expensive there.
I will be adding more of the frequently asked questions to here, let me know if you have any question that you want me to talk about or to add to this page.
